n. physical articles (things) as distinguished from "incorporeal" assets such as rights, patents, copyrights and franchises. Movable assets (things, including animals) which are not real property, money or investments.

Basically, anything that is not "real estate", but actually exists as an object.

Personal property = all property other than land and buildings attached to land

Tangible property = property that can be touched

Tangible personal property = property other than land and buildings attached to land that can be touched

My mother's will provides that iget all of her clothing, some furniture,miscellaneous peronal effects and all remaining tangible personal property. She owned a car...Can my stepfather sell it without my permission?
