I am looking into adopting my daughter which is 9yrs old. Her biological father has never had or wanted to anything to do with her. Her mother and I are now divorced I pay child support for her cause I chose to. My daugheter only knows me as being her father. I have two other children that are biologically mine and with me being in the Marine Corps they have dependent ID's and are covered medically by my insurance. I have been wanting to adopt my daughter for years now and just haven't been able to due to being deployed so much. But now I have said the heck with it and I am going forward with it just not sure what I need to do. I am going to talk with an attorney in June to get a consultation on what I need to do. I just want to see if I could get a little bit of advice before my counsultation. I have been supporting my daughter well before she was even born before me and her mother evergot married.

YOu would need to be married to the child's mother and get dad's rights terminated OR mom and dad would both have to consent to having their rights terminated.
