I've got damage on my property that may well be the result of water runoff from the slope of my neighbor's backyard. I would like to get a landscaping contractor to come to my property to confirm this. If he does confirm it, and my neighbor doesn't agree to pay for the damage, and this were to end up in small claims court, how do I bring the contractor to court to testify for me that this is the case? Do I have to pay him something?

I really don't know how this all works since I've never been to court before.
