distribution of estate

What is the name of your state? nc I am the executrix of my fathers estate and the only heir. I am trying to final the estate. I sent a annual account to clerk of court instead of the final account. This was returned with a note stating if I have not finalized transferring everything into my name then i must file extension. All accounts are in the name of the estate with myself listed as the exe. Does this mean I have to actually disburse the funds to myself and show receipt of disbursement before estate can be finaled?

Probably. Why would you not want to transfer the funds to your own account and close the estate account?
