Divorce Process

What is the name of your state? Michigan

We go to court for petition, custody and support on Tuesday. Can I change the paperwork to separation or drop the divorce without a petition to drop?

If you want to dismiss the divorce action and refile you can but be forewarned that if you do that then child support and custody will most likely NOT be heard because the suit from which they flow has been dmissed. And to amend it, there would not be proper time for service on an amendment to the first complaint.
