What is the name of your state? ca my father passed in jan 2007, brother became amd. probate closed jan 2008. he refuses to settle esate

Maybe you should clarify. The phrase "probate closed" usually means that all legitimate creditors were paid, the remaining assets were distributed according to the deceased's will or the intestacy statutes, and the court released the administrator from his/her duties..

Have you looked at the probate file at the county courthouse?

What exactly do you mean when you say he refuses to "settle" the estate?

Were you named as a beneficiary in the will and are you saying you have received no check?
