can you get a power of attorney of someone if they are married and can the spouse fight it?

A person who is legally sane can give a power of attorney to a third party to act for him or her in most instances. Of course the spouse may assert his or her spouse lacked mental competence, was under an agreement not to issue a power of attorney, or that the person who obtained it secured the power through fraud or duress. Or if multiple peole have a power of attorney, and each wants to do something different, confusion may reign.
