In California, which takes presidence, a living trust that was drawn up prior to a marriage or a quit claim deed that was signed after a marriage

Please claify what you are talking about -- it is sort of apples and oranges.

If you signed a deed, post-marriage, and had authority to sign that deed, it would convey your the interests in the property involved. To protect him/herself the buyer could get title insurance.

The living trust governs who has control over the property in that trust, and thus power to convey trust property.
