What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arizona
Hi,

I recently got married and wanted to find out how my husband can adopt my 9 & 11 year old daughters. Their father has not really be a part of their lives, they have not seen him in 4 years and has not paid child support really in the last 8 years. He pays about $200/year until this last year and half, he as not paid anything and is trying to get it down to paying nothing a month since he is in a rehab program. What is considered abandonment? and how would we go about having him adopt them?

Thanks!

1) hire an adoption attorney

2) be married for over a year

3) father agrees to terminating his rights and the adoption OR you legally have his rights terminated by a court (atty needed)
