What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? IL

I was adopted in CA as a baby. I'm now living in IL. I would like to remove my adopted father off my birth certificate, long complicated story suffice to say.

I know that changing my name to my mom's (adopted) maiden name I can do through the courts and filing paperwork. I really don't have to worry about that at this point and time considering I"m married. This is two different animals that I'm trying to accomplish.

Removing adopted dad is a little more complex, I can do that though if I choose to right? I have no bio dad listed on my true original birth certificate and I have no desire to find him I just would prefer no father listed on any birth certificate.

My other questions are do I have to file all of this paperwork here in IL or do I file it all in CA since that is my original place of birth. What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Where do I place the legal ad that states I'd be doing this as in which state, the state he resides in, my state or the state of CA? I wouldn't have to legally notify him that I've done this??

No. You can't remove your father from your BC.

I don't know of a law that allows an adult to simply remove one of their parents from their birth certificate.
