What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA

My daughter purchased a used car in CA approximately one and a half weeks ago and it would not start one day. She had it towed to the dealer (Not a private sale). They determined the clutch was bad and informed her she would need to pay half of the cost due to her poor driving ability. The waranty is "Limited" with the dealer paying 0% of labor and 0% of parts for "30 days or 1000 miles whichever comes first: Engine and Transmission". It is NOT "As Is --- No Warranty". Does she have some recourse under CA Implied Waranties law? Are there similar cases under Mag Moss or Song Beverly she can refer to? Is there any coverage under any Federal Waranty Laws?

Any other options?

Thank you in advance.

Most warranties would not cover a clutch but would cover the engine or transmission. The reason why the clutch isn't covered is because a beginner or racer could easily ruin it in one day. It is a wearable/replaceable part like the brake shoes/pads. And... it is neither in the transmission or the engine but in the housing between the two.
