What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? VA

A husband and his wife are married but living apart for serveral years (they have an adult child together). A few months ago the wife went to an attorney and had her sister appointed power of attorney (the wife has many health problems) over her checking and savings accounts. If the wife dies, can the sister get anything else besides the checking and savings accounts such as the husband's property and other items.

A Power of Attorney enables an agent to act on behalf of the person granting the POA. It does not enable the agent to "get" anything. And the POA ceases when the person granting it passes away.

Perhaps the question you want ask is how does the wife leave her assets to her sister upon death.

Does the wife have a will?
Does the wife have children?
