As an executor to an estate I can be paid usually about 2% of the estate. My question is, is the 2% paid before expenses or is a net, (after all expenses), fee. Thanks

Typically it is gross estate, before expenses and taxes, but as the court has to approve the commission if the amount turns out to be an unconscionable part of the net estate the court may adjust it down.
