In a NY State Supreme Court proceeding is evidence allowed to prove defendants' intent/motive/scheme?

My response:

Yes. But (and there's always one of those), it depends upon numerous variables that are required, by law, which determine whether or not certain documents can or will be accepted into evidence by a court.

Evidence cannot be accepted by the court all because you have a piece of paper. There are numerous legal "hoops" that must be passed, by law, before certain evidence can be accepted by the court. For example, has a proper "foundation" been made for the evidence ? Has the document been "authenticated" by it's writer ? Is the evidence an original or a copy ? And the list goes on, and on, and on.

Good luck to you.
