What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Arkansas

I have 2 children from a previous marriage. Their father is deceased. I am remarried and my husband has petitioned to adopt the children. The paternal grandmother has petitioned for this to be dismissed. Can this be dismissed just because she doesn't agree?

No, the paternal grandmother cannot stop the adoption. Her request for a dismissal will be denied. She has no standing to contest the adoption. However, she may end up being given specific visitation rights as a result of her petition.

If you tried to do this without an attorney, its time to get one IMMEDIATELY.
