What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?
alabama

I was notified by mail that a warrant would be issued if I failed to pay $325.00 for pretrial fees that were for a case in 1997. The case was criminal court. I was put on pretrial and had to report once or twice before my court date. I didn't know of these charges, and now they demand I pay. Is there some sort of statute of limitations law that would clear me of having to pay these fines? Any advice or a point in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.
