I wanted to obtain a copyright for a book. The book is registereed with the US Copyright office. The US Copyright office informed me that the author has an option agreement with a studio.
1. Is there any way for me to know what the terms of
the agreement are?
2. What the duration of such an agreement usually is?

Depends on how private this agreement is. Non disclosure? Etc? What you want copyright for? Etc.
