What constitutes the "contents" of house in an estate?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Virginia
Karl died and left his house and contents to Sue. Sue died and left her estate to me. I found Karl's traveler's checks in his house; are these included in the "contents" of the house, therefore Sue's property (and therefore mine), or are traveler's checks not considered to be "contents" of the house, and therefore belong to another beneficiary?
