What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Missouri

If someone leaves a "life estate' to his spouse, does this include the house or everything, like the Lawn, backyard etc..?

Thanks!

You have started twenty-eight other threads, some of them about life estates.

I am not going to wade through those to find out what you are talking about.

So tell us what you mean by leaving a life estate to your spouse?

Real property?

Personal property?

Via deed?

Via will?

Give us a clue.

Actually, I believe the grub worms are transferred to the tennant pur autre vie as well.

(Disregarding any estates due to dower or curtesy and assuming livery of seisin.)

Thanks

I will have to check the wordingin the will. What I was wondering if the person having a life estate in a house also has the use of the rest ofd the real property?
