WA State Laws on insurance fraud/imitating insurance agent
A friend had one of her friends call someone at work in order to find out some information on a gentleman who works there. She called stating she was with "their insurance company" and needed to verify his social security number. He called her back, and gave that information. The human resources dept. then called the inicial caller to find out what was going on, apparently thinking fraud. There was a report filed with the local police dept. Nothing has happened by the police to this point. The girl played stupid. The situation has been cleared up, both guilty parties have fessed up and apologized to the gentleman in question. Can any legal action take place from this point? Does this seem to be a case of fraud? What is the worst case scenario with this case?
