I live in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

I was assaulted on 01/24/2001. My nose was broken by the attacker. I filed a police report right after the incident. I filed a criminal complaint the next day with a detective. The attacker has not been arrested yet. The detective informed me that he is backed up.

What is the normal turnaround time for a criminal to be arrested, after a criminal complaint has been filed?

Is there anything I can do to speed up the process, besides calling the detective every week for an update?

Sincerely,
John III
