What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Michigan

What do I have to do? My 17 year old daughter, as of 10-14, has moved out and in with her new boyfriend and his family. What papers do I have to file, or what do I have to do to get her out of there and back with family?

What's wrong with driving out there, picking up her little ass, putting it in the car, and driving back home?

after reading your reply...

After reading your replys, I called the local police...NO help there...In speeking with them, as far as the Police care, they can do nothing. She is now an adult and can do as she pleases. There is nothing that I can do from what they had to say. So, do I just let it go and let her fall flat on her face? Is is all about tough love at this point?

No, it is about talking to the supervisors of the police officers you talked to until you find someone to help.

Something about a paper

I was told by someone that I could file a paper called an Incorrigability paper???? I can't seem to find anything on this. What can I do? After looking for hours, I still know nothing more then I did hours ago. If I do go and drag her home, how do I keep her from taking off again? I do know that it takes time and over time they will brake up and then she will be homeless, because we all know how teenage love works.

The word is incorrigible. Basically you need to file a complaint with the police that her boyfriend is contributing to the delinquency of the minor and your daughter is a runaway. You also have to state that she is incorrigible and you want charges pressed. If the police won't help go to juvenile court and ask to speak to a prosecutor.

You do not need permission of the court, or the police, or anyone else, to force your minor daughter to come home from a place that she does not have your permission to be.

Sure, a police escort would be nice as it might scare your daughter and her boyfriend into not arguing the point. But it's not required.

Until she is 18, she lives where you say she lives, and you do not need any regulatory agency's permission to enforce that.

she is not legally an adult until the age of 18. your her mother, you need to protect her and do what is right. she should have never gone over there in the first place. you need to contact her boyfriends parents and tell them she needs to come home and that the authorities have been contacted and if she resists then she will be escorted home by them. Scareing her home might work.

Not smart to threaten them with something the police have already refused to do.

That takes "contributing to the delinquency" off the table.

It does not eliminate the parent's right to bring their minor daughter home.

You in Michigan too?

I have the exact same problem, except my girl is 16. And police are useless. But you can file incorrigable papers on her to make her a ward of the court, but you have to hire an attorney to do it.
