Misdemeanor Illinois Obscene Conduct (public urination)

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois
I was charged with Obscene Conduct (public urination) in Charleston, Illinois, I was peeing in a hallway in a bar.
Can I be charged with public urination if it happened in a private bar? I can't make the court date, if I hire a lawyer can they appear on my behalf? Will this hurt my chances to get a job? What legal repercussions am I facing if I plead/am found guilty? Side note: I was arrested and plead guilty to public intox and public urination in Iowa some four months ago.

"In public" applies to private property that's open to entry / vision of the public. It covers bars. Use the mens room, or if you can't otherwise contain yourself, try depends.

Why the hell would you pee in the hallway of a bar? Do you think anyone wants to see or smell your secretions? Do you think whoever has to clean your filthy mess deserves the job of having to mop up pee, because you're too uncivilized to use a toilet?

Were you raised by wolves, or just stupid filthy parents who weren't up to the job?

You must appear or a warrant will be issued. It also makes things much easier if the judge decides to throw you in jail.

How could you urinate in a hallway. Seriously. I'll admit when there's no bathroom around I might run a safe distance away from the road and find a bush, but in a hallway in a public bar? That is disgusting. I work in an establishment comparable to this and it sucks to have to clean this kind of stuff up. I haven't cleaned up urine perse, but puke is just as bad (If not worse actually). They have bathrooms for that, probably at the end of the same damn hall you were peeing in. I hope you have to pay a huge fine, because you piss people who work in the restaurant business, like me, royally off.

Instead of peeing in the hallway of a private bar, why don't you pee in the hallway of your home. After doing so, come back and tell us what happened.
