What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? CA.
My grandmother has recently been notified that she is one of the last living hiers to her great aunt's will. The total estimated monetary value is 10million dollars. She has a court date soon and our family is lacking knowledge on what steps to take to protect her legally. Where does she start?

Is she of sound mind? It's hard to know exactly what you mean by how to "protect her"--protect her from what?

IF she has not already prepared a last will and testament, she will need to have her own will drafted or a trust prepared, perhaps with the assistance of a probate attorney. Perhaps also discussing her assets with a certified estate planner to see how she wants her money handled.

Court date for what? Protect her from what?

She's inheriting 10 million dollars, and you're here at a free advice site?

Get her to an attorney. She can afford it.
