What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Ca
My mom is on medi-cal, has dementia and recently broke her hip.
She is currently in the hospital.
The Dr recommends surgery but says sometimes a break like this is 'livable' without surgery.
I am her POA and am wondering about my liability if I sign for the surgery.
I have seen the paperwork from this hospital and it says that the person signing agrees to pay for any un-paid bills. Seems obvious then that I am. So, do I have this correct or am I missing somethingWhat is the name of your state (only U.S. law)?

Are you concerned about being 'personally' liable for those charges, or that your mother will be liable for those charges (or not, if there is nothing left in the estate)....because you signed for her as POA?
