Questions regarding Probation transfer

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FL
My friend of 15 years was supposed to be moving to FLorida in the next few weeks. We were setting him up a job and he is already renting my extra room in my home. He was arrested and is looking at probation. How does he go about transfering or setting up his probation here. Currently he is in NY. Any help with the procedure anyone can give or a website would be helpful.

He has no choice but to wait for a disposition to his case.

He needs to get a lawyer.

He needs to realize that probation transfer is a privilege, not automatic and he may be denied by either state.
