What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Kentucky

My son was issued a citation for allowing an unlicensed driver to drive my vehicle. It is a violation of KRS 186.620(1) which is a class B misdemeanor. Do I need to hire an attorney? Also, what will happen to him when he goes to court? Will he get any jail time?
