The "normal sentence" will depend on the totality of facts, such as the context of the offense, if it was related to domestic violence or involve a family member, if it occured under the influence or in a place of sale of intoxicating spirts, the offenders plea, and the offenders prior record (if any).

So the bottom line is: there is no 'normal' or 'typical' sentence, particularly for a weapons crime.

Please flesh this out more along with the exact statue that was charged.
