What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? WA, trust made in HI

Created revocable trust while single in Hawaii. Now reside in Washington State. Added wife when married as beneficiary. We have since bought property together. Want to put the jointly owned property in the trust, however, my wife is only a beneficiary, how will this work? Do we need to make a new trust?

Pretty much you can use the in vivo trust as you would your own name. So you can title the asset in the trust alone, or jointly with your trust and her name, etc... Perhaps a better idea is to set up a trust for her as well and put the property jointly in the names of your two trusts.

However, it would behoove you to discuss this with a WASHINGTON lawyer if we're talking about real estate there. You don't want to lose any protections afforded to married couples (like tenants by the entirety) by screwing up the wording of the grant.
