What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? FL

My husband was fired today for making a mistake. He was a 10 yr employee and moved up to a management position which he has been in for at least 4 years. He adjusted an employees time sheet and the employee called HR and though the employee has problems with the company at this time. They told my husband that because the employee made a formal complaint about the time sheet change, the employers attorneys recommended termination of my husband. He has never been reprimanded for this, as a matter of fact his record is perfect. Upper management had knowledge of this and did not tell him he could be fired for it. Every evaluation has been perfect. Can they do this for a mistake that he did acknowledge. He thought he could do this.

Then he was wrong.

You can only adjust a time card for a specific set of circumstances. Apparently, none of those apply here.

Tell him that the next time he should keep his hands off the timecards of employees partial to calling the DOL.
