A member of our family just passed away. Another member wrote a letter and wants to distribute it to all friends and relatives about the treatment this person received by family before passing away. The letter specifically names a person who has caused hardship in the family. It is well known -- but never discussed. Should the writer of the letter be seriously concerned that this may bring a lawsuit against him??
Thanks for any info that could help us out.

It depends entirely on the content, and claims, of the letter. If the contents can be shown to violate the other persons rights or privacy, or cause them to be 'damaged', there is a potential for legal action.
