I am a partner in a small business in California. We let an employee go in April of 2000. He looked for work in the weeks following his dismissal but since then he has not. He continually shows up on our door step asking for his job back and has stated that he does not want to work anywhere else. He has shown up at one of our employee's house on several occasions, asking him to talk to us about bringing him back on. He was terminated for cause. He has been told by one of the other partners that he is not to return here and that we would considered him a trespasser if he returned. He has been back since then but we didn't do anything. He has made mention that he might try to talk to us at our homes (the partners). What can we do? He seems a little obsessed and it's concerning us. What action can we take to prevent something from happening?
