What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? North Carolina

i was wondering when police search anything of yours, whatever they seize do they have to give you a receipt for it?

Example, they searched my house looking for evidence that may have been used in a crime. they wrote a recirpt for the clothes that they took but didnt write a reciept for my cell phones that they seized. they have had them a week now going through them and calling people. Shouldnt they have wrote a receipt for that also?

Probably - but it's not an error that will get your case dismissed (check with a qualified attorney in your jurisdiction on this). The best thing to do is to get your attorney to ask for the receipt.
