Can they ask this on an application?

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Florida

On a firefighter application with the city, can they ask my monthly creditors names/addresses, balances owed, monthly payment amount, date of last payment, and type of loan? I have excellent credit, but just wonder if it's necessary to know this to hire me?


They also asked for all of my siblings names, addresses and phone numbers. I have three sisters.

It's not illegal, but personally I wouldn't apply with a company that wanted all that info.
