What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? SC

Let's say a trust provides that an insurance policy or annuity is designated to be left to a certain beneficiary upon death of the settlor. Then later, the settlor goes to the insurance company and changes it to a different beneficiary. Which document would prevail? Note: There is a will but none of this is stipulated of course.

That's what I thought. Man, people love to complicate things. Just glad ol' Dad thought about the policy. Could be the trust was never executed anyway...
