Uninspected

What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New York


Recently I was issued 2 tickets in a private parking lot at work. The first was for being parked "not in a space", which I admit to being guilty of and have no plans on trying to fight it. The second ticket was for having an expired inspection. At the time that the ticket was issued, the vehicle was parked and unattended. My question is, in NY are parked vehicles required to be inspected?
