A close friend of mine has been continuously stalked by an ex boyfriend. At this point he has (3) warrants out for his arrest. One is bench warrant for failure to appear regarding a break in and vandalism of her home. The other two are stalking and violating the restraining order (the restraining order is final). Furthermore, he continues to stalk and vandalize her property and the police have not served the warrants yet.
We have told the police where he spends the majority of his time (his new girlfriends house), but the police go there, ask if he is there, she lies and says no then they just leave. It doesnt seem to us that they are not taking this persons actions very seriously and are blowing her off.
Yesterday, the ex was seen driving through her development (again), which is a violation of the restraining order (the judge put the whole development in the RO, not just her residence). Upon calling the police they state that she can file another complaint but they cant track him down so why bother.
This whole event has been very traumatizing for her and we are looking to get some closure and have him receive charges and legal punishment he deserves but we are at wits end.
Can anyone please provide some suggestions on how to get his warrants served and what to do in the event that he is spotted violating the RO, which happens a couple times a week.
