I recently applied for a job where they have background checks. On my background it shows some charges that were dismissed and one for which ajudication was withheld. There are no convictions. Is a potential employer allowed to ask about those? Can they deny employment due to that? I want to be open about it - if they ask - but I don't want to say something that may cost me the job. Any advice?
