What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Illinois

Good morning/afternoon. This is hopefully a brief question.
I have resigned from my long-time employer on good terms, accepting a position with another company.

Today I received a number of forms to sign and return. Among them is a 'Statement of Understanding'. This form basically spells out a bunch of 'legal obligations' I have to my former company.

I have no real qualms with the contents of the document, but why would I offer my signature on something that offers no considerations to myself?

Thanks in advance for your thoughts on this topic!

If you don't know, why would we?

If you're asking if you're legally obliged to sign such a document, then the answer is no you're not.
