What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? New Jersey
Are the penalties prohibiting an employer hiring someone the same for being convicted of a felony as being arrested for a felony? (Arrested on 3 charges and was convicted on 2 misdomeanors.) Told my employer about my two convictions prior to getting the job and when the back ground check came back was fired due to the charges showing as felonies.

It is ENTIRELY up to the employer as to what constitutes sufficient 'problems' to terminate or refuse to hire.
