What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? Wisconsin

I have a pending Class A misdemeanor charge against me. I've already signed a written statement admitting guilt so I don't believe I have a defense. Is it a good idea to send a letter to my DA describing the circumstances of the incident in a plea for a different charge to be filed against me in exchange for a larger fine and/or community service? The charges are embarrassing and my worry is that people I know will find out with information being so readily available these days on the internet. Thanks.
