I recieved a ticket for having an expired registration (59 days) while driving my friend's car. In other words, my friend's registration was expired, but I got the ticket. The police officer said I had to appear in court, but I'm not sure if I'm responsible for my buddy paying his ad valorem tax and registration fee. The officer said something about bringing the proof that my buddy has paid his fees to court, but I know for a fact that he is turning in the leased vehicle in a few days and will not renew that tag. Any advice?
