What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? California
The code is 41.27 (C) Ordinance LAMC.

I asked some guys who were standing by on the sidewalk for a cigarette. Some undercover cops came and detained us. We weren't breathalyzed or asked to do any sort of sobriety tests. They searched us but did not arrest us. I cooperated with the officer. The officer said if I beg the judge, the judge will throw out my case.

On the ticket it says I should appear on court on 3/20/08. Does this mistake have any effect on my case? Will this be on my record forever and will it affect things such as employment or grad school?
