i am employed in california by a denver based firm. we are restructuring and i am being offered a severence package and being asked to sign a non-compete which include both language about working for competitiors and more importantly to me, hiring people away from my current firm for a period of two years. i have heard this is not enforcable in california. i want the package, and i want to potentially hire people from the firm later. what is my exposure.
