What is the name of your state (only U.S. law)? washington

I bought some collectible items from A, kept some and then was selling some on ebay when B called and claimed they were his. I ended the auctions just in case, I talked to the dectective in charge of the case, he wants to have A look at them and then most likely take them for evidence. A claims they were stolen from a house his son was going to remodel, he claims there was $100,000 total value (I paid $500 for some items), no insurance, no proof of ownership, it all smells fishy to me. I would like my 500 back (I will take the loss on my time and the ebay fees) or I want the items back from the court - does anyone have advice for me?? Thank you in advance

Recieving stolen propperty. If it is proven that the propperty was stollen from B then B is still the propper owner and it would have to be returned. A would be the one you need to go after.
