If a New York attorney representing a client – currently residing in New York - against criminal charges initiated by the Florida State Attorney, libels the victim (residing in Florida) via a letter to the Florida State Attorney (copying the victim), can the victim (with clear and unequivocal proof of defamation) file a complaint with the New York State Bar and further, can he/she file a lawsuit against both the defendant and the law firm representing him. If not,are there any alternative options for redress?
