fake I.D.

Hi, I live in Iowa and was recntly caught with a fake i.d. I was assaulted by an individual and afterwards the police took me into custody and found my fake i.d. This I.d. was manufactured with my picture on it and my name. The id is not real and is from virginia. I received a citation of unlawful use of license. I'm trying to decide my best course of action here and would realy appreciate any help. thanks

Get a lawyer if you like.

Simple misdemeanor $120 or so fine and loss of license for six month.

I don't live in Iowa though.

I live in Illinois but currently reside in Iowa in which I attend school for most of the year. I was caught in Iowa.
