My wife was admitted to the States (New York) on a Fiancee Visa(K-1). We are now married(within the 90 period) and about to apply for her status as a Permanent Resident. Is it legal for her to seek employment and/or work? If so , what papers should she have? My understanding is that employment is authorized for a 90 day period prior to her change to Permanent Resident. Does she have to have an issued social security no.? Please forward any information that you might have.
