I am an owner and resident in a Condo in the District of Columbia. I am trying to find out if there are any specific statutes in DC that define under what circumstances the management of my condo may enter my unit. The condo rules require each unit owner to provide a key to their unit for emergency purposes. But there seems to be a belief that they can enter units for non-emergency purposes without giving prior notice to the owner. I want to know if this is illegal or not. Does anyone know the answer to this question?

Thanks

**A: entering an apartment unit for non emergency reasons is illegal and tantamount to trespassing.
