i am currently a grad student in alabama. I used to be in the naval reserves. I was discharged(dishonorably) for various reasons. when applying for jobs, should i mention the discharge? will they be able to find out through backgound check anyway? i was only in for a year and was also employed elsewhere, so there's no lapse in employment. is there a way i can tip-toe around this.
